Jamaat Working to Establish a Welfare State: Syed Abdullah Md. Taher

Desk News: Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Naib-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, stated that the party is working towards establishing a welfare state. He emphasized that nothing will be imposed on anyone, and everyone will have the freedom to move around. Women will observe modesty (purdah), but those who choose not to will not be forced. He added that a certain group harbors hatred against Jamaat-e-Islami without properly understanding its principles.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at a friendly gathering organized by the Dhaka South wing of Jamaat-e-Islami on Monday (September 16) at the Diploma Engineers Institution Auditorium in Kakrail, Dhaka.

The event was chaired by Mohammad Nurul Islam Bulbul, Central Executive Committee Member and Ameer of Dhaka South Jamaat-e-Islami, with Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Central Working Committee Member and Secretary of Dhaka South Jamaat, attending as a special guest.

Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher further clarified that Jamaat-e-Islami’s role and stance on resolving societal issues need to be communicated clearly. He urged the party members to reach out to people, regardless of gender, and convey Jamaat’s commitment to building a welfare state.

He highlighted that Jamaat-e-Islami members fear no one but Allah and described them as the best of humanity because they fight for truth, human rights, freedom, and liberation from oppression and exploitation. “Those who sacrifice worldly wealth for the cause of Allah, who endure hardships for the sake of truth, are the greatest among us,” he added.

Dr. Taher also expressed his belief that one day, Islam will be fully established in Bangladesh. He envisioned a future where people, men and women alike, would unite in mosques for prayers, there would be no hunger, no lack of food, genuine education for all, and an end to violence, looting, and oppression. “We will build a peaceful and brotherly Bangladesh where harmony flows like a river. Insha’Allah, we will create that kind of nation,” he concluded.
