News Desk: In celebration of the holy Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), a colorful procession and rally were organized in Dhaka by Anjuman-e-Rahmaniya Mainiya Maizbhandariya, under the leadership of Maulana Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Al-Hasani, the Imam of Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif, President of Anjuman, and Chairman of the Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP).
The procession, known as “Jashne Julus,” began at 11 AM on Monday from the Engineers Institution premises in Ramna, parading through the main streets of the capital city with thousands of participants.
The streets resonated with Islamic hymns, praises for the Prophet, and slogans of love from the participants. Attendees from various parts of the country carried flags, including the Kalema Tayebah, the national flag, and banners displaying messages and slogans of faith.
In his pre-procession speech, Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Al-Hasani emphasized that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) came as a beacon of light to eradicate the darkness of injustice and immoral practices from the world. He highlighted that, before the Prophet’s arrival, women had no rights or status in society, but the Prophet (PBUH) elevated their dignity. He established a society based on justice, equality, and compassion, making his advent a special blessing for all humanity.
He also underscored that Islam promotes peace, prosperity, and happiness for everyone, regardless of religion or race. He pointed out that Islam does not endorse any forceful imposition of beliefs and condemns religious intolerance. “We, the Sunni Sufi people, are peaceful Muslims who do not believe in extremism. We uphold the values of tolerance, and the Sufi culture and shrines represent the glory of Islam,” he stated.
He called for an end to the destruction of shrines, mosques, and Khanqahs (Sufi lodges) by extremists, urging the interim government to ensure the safety of these religious sites. He demanded that those involved in these heinous acts be identified and brought to justice, and that the damaged shrines be rebuilt and compensated.
Referring to the rich history of Sufi saints in Bangladesh, Syed Saifuddin mentioned that Islam was spread in this region through the teachings of great saints like Hazrat Shahjalal, Hazrat Shah Paran, Hazrat Gausul Azam Maizbhandari, and many others, whose contributions to building mosques and madrasas are unparalleled. He condemned the actions of extremists who, under the guise of religion, instill fear and drive people away from faith, calling them enemies of Islam.
The event, moderated by Mufti Maulana Maksudur Rahman, featured several notable speakers, including Shahzada Syed Mahbub-e-Moinuddin, Shahzada Syed Mashuk-e-Moinuddin, Emeritus Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman, Professor Dr. Ataur Rahman Khan Miazi, and other leaders and scholars. Various dignitaries from Anjuman, Moiniya Youth Forum, and spiritual leaders from across the country were also present.
