Desk News: Former justice A.H.M. Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, who was arrested while attempting to cross the Dona border in Kanaighat, Sylhet, into India, has been granted bail by the court. However, due to pending cases in other parts of the country, the court has ordered that he remain in custody.

He was subsequently charged under Section 54 of the Penal Code and presented before the court, which ordered his detention.
This arrest has sparked widespread attention due to Manik’s former role as a justice, and the developments in his case will continue to be closely monitored.
