Sports Desk: The 10th edition of the FIFA Futsal World Cup is currently underway in Uzbekistan. Argentina, having topped Group C, advanced to the Round of 16, where they secured a 2-0 victory over Croatia, earning a place in the quarterfinals.
On Friday, September 27, Argentina triumphed over Croatia in Tashkent’s Humo Arena Stadium. Matías Rosa and Alan Brandi scored the two goals for the Albiceleste, with Matías Rosa receiving the Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance. This defeat marked the end of Croatia’s journey in the tournament, as they were eliminated in the Round of 16.
Argentina’s futsal team showcased their offensive strength, scoring 18 goals in their three group-stage matches. While they faced a tough challenge against Afghanistan, their dominance was evident in the other games.
In their Group C opener, Argentina demolished Ukraine 7-0. They followed up with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Afghanistan. In their final group-stage match, Argentina defeated Angola 9-5, finishing as group champions and securing their spot in the knockout stages.
Argentina’s next challenge will be against Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals, with the match scheduled for September 30.
