GM Kader: I Was There from the First Day of the Students’ Movement

Desk News: GM Kader, the Secretary General of the Jatiya Party, has commented that the nation is going through a critical period. He stated, “A huge opportunity for change has arisen. We are witnessing profound changes in various aspects of our national life. We need to have an idea about what we are doing in politics, what we have done in the past, and what we will do in the future.”

He made these remarks during a meeting with the National Farmers’ Party at the Jatiya Party’s Banani office on Thursday (September 12).

Kader mentioned that the downfall of the Awami League was due to the creation of inequality among people, rampant nepotism, and corruption. “We have been with the students’ movement from the very first day. In Parliament, we have said that the quota system is not constitutionally acceptable. Later, we have spoken against the quota system in various public meetings.”

He also mentioned, “I met with Abu Saiyed’s mother and involved the people of Rangpur in the movement. Our party worker in Rangpur has been killed and imprisoned. Attempts have been made to harass our Rangpur mayor.”

Kader added, “In various places, our party workers are being made defendants in cases with the Awami League. This is not acceptable. We were with the people, who, with their blood, ousted the Awami government hoping for change. Some political parties are following the same path as the Awami League, which is not good for the change we need.”

The meeting was attended by National Party Secretary General and freedom fighter Mohammad Mujibul Haque Chunnu, Presidium members and Additional Secretary General Advocate Mohammad Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, Monirul Islam Milan, Chairman’s advisor Mohammad Khalilur Rahman Khalil, Mohammad Mostafa Mohsin, Vice Chairman Sheikh Alomgir Hossain, Sultan Ahmed Selim, Mohammad Shafiullah Shafi, and Shariful Islam Soru Choudhury.
